Permalink Reply by Jean-Luc on December 30, 2011 at 5:48am I post this one to underline this fact: YouTube includes this video in a research about Annie Haslam. How is it possible? Her name is nowhere to be seen. Is YouTube able to identify her by listening to the soundtrack?
Permalink Reply by Esa on December 31, 2011 at 5:38pm Yes: this is known as "Content ID match", although it's not clear if the triggers are exclusively video, or video and audio matches. If you upload a video that triggers such a match, you receive an email similar to:
Dear <AccountNameHere>,
Your video, <LinkToVideoHere>, may have content that is owned or licensed by <CopyrightHolderNameHere>.
No action is required on your part; however, if you are interested in learning how this affects your video, please visit the Content ID Matches section of your account for more information.
Sincerely,
- The YouTube Team
