filled in for Frank Pagano at RoSfest 2010. This was due to a scheduling conflict - Frank will go on tour with the band in June.…

I took a TON of photos - but I'm still in the middle of shooting festival day 2 today, and will be driving back home to Atlanta all day Monday (in pouring rain and thunderstorms, it looks like.) I'll start posting more pictures later in the week.
In the meantime, I added a handful of preview shots to the RoSfest 2010 gallery

Almost can't believe the day has come: Renaissance performs at RoSfest tonight.
The venue is fantastic, the sound is perfect. We are ready for "Let's have a warm welcome please for Renaissance."
Couple of shots from Friday below.…

The stateside tour calendar is filling up; starting to look grim for western and southeastern states. Expect more midwest shows, but I'm guessing that'll be it.
UPDATE April 23: Tour update on Annie Haslam official site
mentions Korea and Japan but NOT Europe, and confirms that there will NOT be western or southeastern dates: "… Continue

This has to be my strangest Renaissance collectible: a scathing review of Annie Haslam's vocal talent by CBS Masterworks
It's a note from CBS Masterworks president Joseph Dash

Imagine this: You are in the pre-launch tinkering stages of an amateur fan site for your favorite band. You reach out to the band's drummer via his web site contact form, for permission to use some of his images
. Next thing you know, Terry Sullivan
joins your site as… Continue

This person has been selling his/her Renaissance collection on eBay for last few months -- great stuff, lots of rarities, and priced accordingly: http://stores.ebay.com/RENAISSANCE-RARITIES-AND-MOVIES_ALL-RENAISSANCE-ITEMS_W0QQ_fsubZ784649012QQ_sidZ66305572QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322

Continuing my accidental blogging theme of "twos", here are two signed press photos with a twist: Both are signed in ballpoint pen -- probably the same pen -- by the gentlemen of the band, and only one of them is signed by Annie in a felt tip pen. That probably means her autograph was added at a later time.
You can view them in the press photos… Continue

Two recently-acquired 1970s Annie Haslam press photos. One is amazing in every way (including bare feet!), the other one a dull and lifeless pose, korny backdrop, and poor focus. What were they thinking...

I recently acquired a 1977 tour program from Ebay.
It's an impressive 20-page book and an interesting read, but a big surprise to me was the low technical quality of some of the photographs -- except for cover, all black-and-white (which is fine!) but many with with poor contrast and some with massive quantities of dust particles visible from dirty negatives; sloppy workmanship.
The photo geek in me couldn't stand it so I did some Photoshop cleanup on the pages… Continue
